Some love stories take time to unfold, and ours was no exception. After years of searching for the one, we finally found each other in March 2017—and from the moment we met, we just knew. Everything felt right, and on New Year’s Eve 2017, Col asked me to be his forever.

Life had even more joy in store for us, and in November 2018, we welcomed our beautiful twin girls. With our little family complete, we set our sights on our dream wedding—a huge, joy-filled celebration on our family farm, planned for April 2020.

Every element was carefully considered to reflect our love story, from the handcrafted décor to my wedding dress, a true labor of love. My mum and I transformed three second-hand dresses into a Victorian-style masterpiece, stitching together history, sentiment, and sustainability to create something entirely unique. Then, the world changed. Covid struck in March 2020, forcing us to postpone. Though it was heartbreaking, it gave me more time to create, pouring even more love into every detail. With each delay, my passion for styling and event design deepened, and I found so much joy in crafting beautiful, meaningful moments.

Finally, on June 3, 2022, after two more postponements, we said “I do” in the most incredible way—surrounded by over 200 guests, filling three barns with love, laughter, and unforgettable memories. Our wedding wasn’t just a day; it was an experience, complete with a rodeo bull, sumo suits, and nonstop fun.

The energy, the joy, and the sheer magic of that day were beyond anything we could have imagined. But the biggest surprise? The overwhelming love for the décor! So many guests asked, “Why aren’t you doing this for a living?” And in that moment, Vintage Chic Event Hire was born.

Now, I have the privilege of helping other couples bring their dream weddings to life, just as I did for my own. Whether it’s a grand, laughter-filled celebration or an intimate, romantic affair, every event is a love story waiting to be told. I feel so honored to be part of making those moments unforgettable.
